My practice is eclectic in both clients and approaches. I draw on my interests and training in psychodynamic
psychotherapy, family systems therapy, and mindfulness meditation. I work together with clients to find ways to
examine the issues that have brought them into therapy and to create an environment that feels safe to explore the
often complicated and difficult aspects of life. I work well with a wide variety of people: gay, straight, and
transgender individuals, couples, and families; with young adults up through the elderly. Special areas of interest
are major life transitions such as leaving home; experiencing infertility and pregnancy; becoming a parent; coping
with aging parents and partners; and the many aspects of aging itself.

I have worked as a therapist since 1976 and have been at Tapestry since 1993. Prior to coming to Tapestry, I
directed a multi-service youth center in Northampton, MA and the sexual-abuse treatment units at Coastal Community
Counseling Center and Family Services of Greater Boston. I currently volunteer on the Helpline of The Alzheimer’s
Association of Massachusetts.
